Thank you Highland Nature Restoration Fund!

We are delighted to have been awarded £6,263 from Highland Council’s Nature Restoration Fund, to help with the first phase of our smolt trial Trap and Truck work. The money has allowed us to purchase a smolt transport tank, water pump, smolt holding boxes, seasonal help, and small boat. Monitoring has commenced at Erchless, with a few run throughs of trap and truck planned for this season. Monitoring the effectiveness of this trial mitigation in future years is essential, and pending funding, we aim to monitor the resultant adult return through the installation of a PIT tag decoder at Kilmorack dam….

Thanks also to SSE for lending us their 6ft rotary screw trap.
